The brief was to create an innovative solution for Casahana's moon cake packaging design and develop supportive collateral to promote the brand story. Besides distinguishing the packaging from traditional bakeries, it also maintains the Chinese visual language and cultural significance of this celebrated festival.
The story of the jade rabbit where it has nothing to offer but to sacrifice itself for the gods who were food beggars in disguise. The gods were then touched by its sincerity and gave it eternal life. From this story, the moon cake packaging does not just serve as a seasonal decorative collectible. Instead, it also functions as a coin bank as well which became an added value just like the rabbit.
